Mathematics

Our Key Stage 5 Mathematics curriculum is designed for students who are passionate about Mathematics and eager to explore its complexities at an advanced level. This program prepares students for higher education and careers in Mathematics, science, engineering, and beyond.

Key Stage 5 (Years 12 & 13)

Curriculum Highlights:

Pure Mathematics: In-depth study of algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and advanced functions, fostering a solid grasp of theoretical mathematics.
Mechanics: Exploring the mathematical principles behind forces, motion, and energy, linking mathematical theory with physical applications.
Statistics and Probability: Advanced techniques in data analysis, interpretation, and probability, with a focus on real-world applications and statistical modelling.
A- Level Further Mathematics: For those seeking an additional challenge, this course covers topics such as complex numbers, matrices, differential equations, and discrete mathematics.

Through lectures students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in university and professional life.

A Level Maths

Career progression

An A level in Mathematics is a qualification which is highly regarded by universities and employers alike. Studying mathematics at A level is a key step for studying a wide variety of subjects at university such as Physics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics, Architecture, Accounting, Computing and Finance to name but a few.

There is the possibility of studying Further Mathematics, please contact Ms Bookal, Head of Mathematics for further details.
